DESCRIPTION .\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'
the teaspoonSLIGHT is a handheld window sampler. controls include: input gain, course and fine sample size, wetness and output volume. toggles allow for time / pitch modulation and playback hold. the set of internal controls feature tilt disable, gain extension, aux input conversion and self oscillation. the input / pre will accept a range of sources from direct guitar input to lower synth level. the aux input allows for remote control over sample playback and will work with either a voltage source or a common sustain pedal. you can also trigger playback via the internal tilt switch. essentially a light version of the CAS
GAIN .\\\\' allows for up to 20db of gain from the pre amp. an additional 20db of gain can be had by flipping ISB | 1 | reaching approximately 40db total. preamp has enough gain to overdrive the input with many passive sources. unity at left most setting
WET '///. this is an active logarithmic crossfader that allows you to move between the direct outputs of the preamp and sampler section. it can also be used to achieve a variable slapback echo with the knob set around the center position [source volumes determine this] and move the pitch toggle to the right
FINE SIZE .\\\\\\' this offers detailed control over the sampler size, most useful at smaller sizes. in order to achieve the full size range possible you must adjust this control in conjunction with the course control
COURSE SIZE .\\\\\\\\\\\' sampler storage size course control
OUTPUT '///. passive output attenuator
PITCH .\\\\\' this together with varying the size will offer a slow down / speed up / pitch modulation effect. the effect is available manually during the actual turn of the size knobs, once you stop moving the pitch will settle back to normal with lower settings resulting in lower crushy sound quality
PUSH .\\\\' manual playback control. the corresponding led will light up for all resulting pulse info so you can see the result of all changes and remote control
HOLD .\\\\' sampler playback hold toggle
INPUT '/////. this input will accept a wide range of sources from a piezo element to a drum machine though some loud sources will need to be attenuated or they may cause loss of detail or distortion [ +/-2.5v max with isolated *OVP ]
AUX INPUT .\\\\\\\\' this input allows for remote control over sample playback and will respond to active AC and DC voltage sources - gate pulses, loud audio pulse, LFOs, clocks [ threshold set at approx 2vdc with a 5vdc max and isolated *OVP, buffering and rectification ] or you can insert any standard N.O. footswitch with a ¼” TS jack. use ISB | 3 | to select. feeding audio frequency pulses will result in an effect not unlike ring modulation though the source will be slightly audible at the audio output
OUTPUT / POWER JACK .\\\\\' the output jack is also the main power switch so you must use a TS cable. left led is a constant power indicator
CLIMB CALIBRATION .\\\\' allows for control over the climb and fall of sample playback volume. adjust while listening to direct sample playback
TILT SWITCH .\\\' the internal tilt switch will activate sample playback. ISB | 1 | will disable this

1| tilt switch disable / enable
2| self oscillation - connects the input directly to the output. adding gain will cause audible feedback
3| the center jack can be used with any standard N.O. [ TS ] footswitch or an external voltage pulse
4| gain extension - roughly +20db

NOTES '/////////.
a folding quick start manual that fits inside the back panel is included
OVP [ over voltage protection ] each input has its own over voltage protection though please try to stay under 5vdc or +/-2.5v for any extended period of time
the contents of the tilt switch [a little metal ball] can be heard bouncing in its enclosure if you shake the unit. the sound has been asked about before so i figured i'd get it out of the way
when using the self oscillation switch, for best results do not have anything plugged into the audio input unless you are using it for other purposes
as for the white paint on the bottom of the pcb, make something up
