atari punk console
::: SOLD
you might have heard the term "atari punk console” floating
around. its a synth design that yields an 8-bit like
sound and can get very chaotic and noisy with certain
settings. in my version i took it a little farther.
i added pitch and wave shaping controls to the joystick
positions so each of the four directions will spit
out different tones, pitches and shapes. the orange
fire button is sort of a dive bomb pitch drop when
triggered. the left (rear) knob is the main pitch control.
the right (front) knob is sort of a waveshaping / folding
control (hard to describe). the top toggle switch triggers
the bright orange led which in turn acts as a clipping
diode lightly distorting the sound. the toggle switch
on the left side is the main power switch. under that
there are four touch contacts that are close enough
to use with one or two fingers while working the pitch
and other switches with the others. some of the contacts
effect pitch, some are shape and together they do things
like boost the signal and drop to a clicking noise.
two 1/4" audio outputs so you can run it to multiple
pedals or get a stereo signal out of it for recording.
external 9v battery compartment along the back for
easy access. battery included
sample details ::: these samples are just some excerpts
of me messing around trying to give you an idea of
the range of sounds and shapes you can get out of it.
there are no effect, no eq, or anything else used,
but i did cut out the boring bits.
