there are too sides of this device. one is a simple
looping sampler and the other is a very bent digital
delay with a patchbay.
the sampler has an input volume control, a toggle
switch for record, power off and loop with an led record
state indicator, and a bend toggle that is actually
mislabeled, sorry. it should say pitch as it is a slight
pitch drop but i accidentally labeled it boost. the
sampler does not have any other pitch or speed control,
and is the same thing found in the SL-0.131. it has
about a 10 second max record time adjustable by switching
the record toggle on and off giving you your loop points
as you would expect. it has one mono input and two
mono outputs for easy routing or patching directly
into the delay. it is not hardwired to the delay, you
will have to run a patch cable for that.
the digital delay is a new heavily bent arion ddm-1.
its been completely rehoused alongside the sampler and
has an added patchbay to give tons of control over the
bends. if you have ever used a ddm-1 your impression
won't carry over here. everything about this delay has
been modified. the input/wetness range has been increased,
the feedback path limitation was removed and there is
a boost feature added to the feedback path making it
incredibly easy to send this into self oscillate/distortion.
because the ranges are extended though the knobs are
very sensitive to change, so slight moves will yield
significant results. the time adjustment range has also
been extended greatly. it can now go from very strong
comb-filter to nice long delays, with the long and short
range switch still present. in order to give you better
control over the full range there is now a fine and course
knob. the bypass foot switch was changed to a push button
so it can be triggered on and off rapidly. the added
banana patchbay will let you patch between multiple bends
at once. there are four male plugs and 8 female jacks,
different combinations will give you different results,
most of them very strong. lots of different distortions,
glitching and feedback paths are possible turning this
into a synth with many different tone/shape capabilities.
when using it as a synth the time knobs turn into pitch
controls. each of the patchbay connections also act as
touch contacts so you can grab onto any of the jacks
or plugs and get bent results. the delay has a single
mono in and out, and a main power switch on the back
next to the 9v jack that will let you run it off a standard
wall adaptor ( the sampler is not connected to this).
the delay and the sampler each run off of a separate
9v batteries. being a nice guy i feel obligated to say "i'm
sorry" in advance to the person buying this as it
is incredibly packed in there and is sort of tough to
change the batteries in and get the back panel back on.

guts - there's no danger or anything its just a tight
fit with that back plate which bow's a bit as well, but
there are rubber feet so nothing to worry about.
